    Geist, James R.

    James R. Geist

    Professor, Division of Integrated Biomedical Sciences, Director of Oral Maxillofacial Imaging Center, teaches courses in radiology, oral pathology, and general pathology to students in the Dental, Dental Hygiene, and post-doctoral programs. He also serves as director of the Oral and Maxillofacial Imaging Center at the University. Dr. Geist has published over 40 peer-reviewed research articles on topics including the diagnostic efficacy of various imaging systems and educational methodology in radiology and pathology. He has presented his research findings at professional meetings in North America, Europe, and Asia. He is a past president of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology and the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology. Dr. Geist has received the award for outstanding didactic or clinical faculty member 19 times. He holds a B.A. degree from Northwestern University, a D.D.S. degree from the University of Illinois, and an M.S. degree in Oral Pathology from Indiana University. He joined the University in 1986.

    Geist, Rose

    Shin-Mey Rose Geist

    Associate Professor, teaches courses in Radiology, Oral Pathology, and General Pathology to students in the dental, dental hygiene, and post-doctoral programs. He also serves as director of the Oral and Maxillofacial Imaging Center. Dr. Geist is a past president of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology and the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology. He currently serves as editor of the Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology section of the journal Oral Surgery Oral Medicine Oral Pathology Oral Radiology. Prof. Geist has received the award for outstanding didactic or clinical faculty member 19 times. He joined the university in 1986.

    Gillham, Cindy A.

    Cindy A. Gillham

    Associate Librarian, Public Services, McNichols Campus Library, is responsible for delivery of reference services and teaching research skill classes. Her assigned collection development fields include biology/clinical science, chemistry and biochemistry, physics, philosophy, language & culture, philosophy and history, as well as the provision of reference services and research skills instruction. She holds a B.A. degree from Oakland University, and a M.I.L.S. from the University of Michigan. She joined the University in 1988.

    Glenn, Lori A.

    Lori A. Glenn

    Clinical Associate Professor, Coordinator Doctor of Nursing Practice Program, McAuley School of Nursing, is a certified nurse midwife and earned her DNP from Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±.  She joined the College of Health Professions/McAuley School of Nursing in 2007.

    Goike, Alyssa

    Alyssa Goike

    Adjunct Instructor, Office of Educational Development and Assessment. Ms. Goike graduated from the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½± in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene. She joined the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½± School of Dentistry as an adjunct dental hygiene faculty member in 2015. She served as the dental hygiene competency advisor for the dental hygiene classes of 2016-2018. Currently, she is responsible for e-portfolio implementation, instruction, and assistance for both dental and dental hygiene students. Since 2018, she has coordinated the faculty inservice scheduling and registrations, and she has assisted with the implementation, coordination and training of the Campus Labs software used for the School of Dentistry's Strategic Plan and Outcomes assessment for CODA accreditation. Additionally, Ms. Goike has also been support faculty for the second year dental hygiene Board Review courses since 2017.

    Grabowski, Gregory

    Gregory M. Grabowski

    Professor of Biology, teaches physiology, pathophysiology and human anatomy. Grabowski came to the University after completion of his post-doctoral training at Harvard’s School of Public Health, where he began his research on pulmonary inflammation induced by metal containing particles in industrial settings. He was awarded National Institute of Health and Center for Indoor Air fellowships to fund his postdoctoral training, as well as Slocum-Lunz fellowships to fund his graduate studies. Grabowski holds a B.A. from Canisius College, M.S. from the University of Charleston, and Ph.D. from the Medical University of South Carolina. He joined the University in 1996.

    Graves, James F.

    James F. Graves

    Associate Professor of Biology, teaches general microbiology and pathogenic microbiology. Graves’ publications and presentations have dealt with microbiology, public health, and the environment. His laboratory work focuses on antibiotic resistance, pathogenesis, biodegradation, and bioenergy. This research has been supported by grants from the Federal Government and private industry. He is member of the Michigan Academy, Council on Undergraduate Research, and the American Society for Microbiology. He was a research scientist at Indiana University, research associate at the University of Virginia, and a postdoctoral fellow at the University of North Carolina. Graves holds B.A. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Missouri. He joined the University in 1987.

    Greene, Harold H.

    Harold H. Greene

    Professor of Psychology, teaches perceptual/cognitive psychology, statistics, research methods, learning and memory, and cross-cultural psychology. Green's research program is set up to determine functional limitations and asymmetries in human visual attention processes. Experiments conducted in his laboratory utilize eye-tracking, electroencephalography (EEG/ERP) and Galvanic skin response (GSR) technology. Greene held research fellowships at the Center of Excellence for Research on Training (CERT) in Atlanta and at University of Massachusetts in Amherst. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Queen's University, Canada, and a Master of Science and Doctorate in Cognitive/Experimental psychology from University of Georgia. Greene obtained a Bachelor of Arts with honors from Queen’s University, Canada, and a Master of Science and a doctorate in Cognitive/ Experimental Psychology from the University of Georgia. Before coming to Detroit Mercy, Greene held research fellowships at the Center of Excellence for Research on Training (CERT) in Atlanta, Georgia, and at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.Before coming to Detroit Mercy. He joined the University in 1999.

    Grigg, Alan E.

    Alan E. Grigg

    Associate Professor of Education, Director of the Special Education Program and Chair of the Department of Education, teaches general education and special education curriculum and method courses and supervises research and field experience. He has extensive experience in teaching special education students for more than 32 years in public education. He has been with the University since 2004, first as an adjunct, then an instructor. He received a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in Special Education from Eastern Michigan University and earned a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology with licensure in 2005 from Capella University.  He earned an Ed.D. in 2016 in Higher Education Leadership from Walden University. During the summer of 2016 he participated in a Fulbright-Hays Group Projects Abroad Program as the curriculum coordinator studying the African Contributions and Contemporary Issues in Northeast Brazil: A Curriculum Development Project Integrating Social Sciences and the Arts. His research interests include teacher education, international education and experience and culturally responsive pedagogy.

    Grobis, Greg

    Greg Grobis

    Associate Professor of Performing Arts, Director of Marketing and Management for the Detroit Mercy Theatre Company and Department Chair, teaches Introduction to the Theatre, Fundamentals of Acting, Acting II, Music of the Theatre, Theatre for Social Change, Principles of Arts Management, Performing Arts in New York City and Los Angeles and other courses. At Detroit Mercy he serves on the Women’s and Gender Studies Program steering committee and is a member of the McNichols Faculty Assembly. Grobis directs and acts inside of the DMTC while mentoring students majoring in theatre at Detroit Mercy. Since graduate school, he has managed over 125 theatre productions at Detroit Mercy and other professional theatres throughout the United States. He currently serves on the board of directors of Detroit Children’s Theatre and is an elite cyclist fundraiser for Make-A-Wish Michigan. Grobis joined Detroit Mercy in 2008.

    Gupta, Aman

    Aman Gupta

    Assistant Professor, teaches Pharmacology and Pharmaco-therapeutics to dental, dental hygiene and physician assistant students. She also guides dental students in their patient medication history reviews. Her interests are keeping students informed of current and new drug information and facilitating interdisciplinary communication. Prof. Gupta holds an M.D. with a specialty in pharmacology and has done additional training on rehabilitation and management of musculoskeletal disorders. She joined the university in 2017.

    Gurun, Dincer

    Dincer Gurun

    Clinical Associate Professor and Clinic Director, currently serves as director of the Division of Clinical dentistry, overseeing the Group Practice Model for dental and dental hygiene students.  He earned a Doctor of Dental Medicine and prosthodontic training at the University of Istanbul, Turkey. He completed a fellowship program in Prosthodontics and earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery from University of Florida. He joined the university in 2001.
