Addiction Studies Minor

Description

The minor in Addiction Studies is intended for undergraduate students who are:

  • majoring in a helping profession, for example, psychology, social work or human services and/or students aiming to expand their employment opportunities; or
  • majoring in nursing or health services administration, where knowledge about addiction can increase understanding of the need for prevention and treatment, and to sensitize medical personnel to the deleterious consequences resulting from untreated addiction, for example, increased morbidity, mortality and medical costs.

The minor in Addiction Studies totals 21 credit hours.

Addiction Counseling Certification

The State of Michigan awards the Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor credential (CADC).
